A Hidden Gem on Colombia’s Caribbean Coast
Where Drums meet Flamingos: Welcome to Dibulla

Meet indigenous communities and visit the lagoons of the flamingos
The area around Dibulla is rich in biodiversity and is home to beautiful coastal ecosystems where visitors can spot flamingos and many other species of birds. The region is also home to Indigenous communities with deep cultural and spiritual connections to the land and the Sierra Nevada. Visitors are welcomed to learn about their traditions, daily life, and relationship with nature through respectful and community-led experiences.

Dibulla, a lovely coastal town in La Guajira
Dibulla is a small and peaceful coastal town in La Guajira, where the Caribbean Sea meets the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Surrounded by beaches, rivers, tropical forests, and dramatic mountains, Dibulla offers a very different experience from the more touristy destinations of Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Life here moves at a slower pace, with strong local traditions, friendly communities, and a close connection to nature.

Authentic Volunteering in La Guajira
Support local children through educational activities, games, sports, and creative workshops. Volunteers can help with English, homework, and other learning activities while encouraging children to discover their talents and build confidence.
Music is also an important part of the experience — you can learn to play drums alongside the children and become part of their musical world. It’s a meaningful opportunity to share your time, exchange cultures, create genuine connections, and experience everyday life in the local community of Dibulla.
